Manufacturing Safety ProfessionalJob description:Position SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Safety Professional to support our Western Advanced Integration assembly facility while ensuring full compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910 General Industry standards, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive safety programs, conducting risk assessments, partnering with leadership to drive safety initiatives, and fostering a proactive, safety-first culture throughout the facility.Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hourKey ResponsibilitiesSafety Program Management
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs to ensure employee safety and regulatory compliance within a manufacturing environment.
- Improve facility safety performance through proactive initiatives and continuous monitoring of key safety metrics.
- Manage and document all safety incidents, ensuring timely reporting and implementation of corrective actions.
- Collaborate with supervisors and managers to integrate safety into daily operations and decision-making.
- Attend leadership meetings to provide safety updates, recommendations, and support for safety initiatives.
- Conduct thorough incident and injury investigations.
- Prepare detailed injury reports and documentation.
- Coordinate transportation and medical treatment for injured employees when necessary.
- Lead root cause analyses (RCA) for recordable incidents and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure corrective actions are completed and monitored to prevent recurrence.
- Conduct safety orientations for new employees and ongoing training for current staff.
- Administer and deliver training for:
- Forklifts
- Scissor lifts
- Gantry cranes
- Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- OSHA-required training
- Company-specific safety programs
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date training records for all employees.
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA and EHS standards.
- Inspect workplace environments, equipment, and work practices to verify safe operations.
- Monitor environmental compliance, including:
- Waste management
- Air quality requirements
- Chemical handling and storage
- Hazard communication compliance
- Maintain accurate safety records and prepare reports for management and regulatory agencies.
- Work cross-functionally with operations, maintenance, engineering, and leadership teams to support safety initiatives and best practices.
- Promote continuous improvement efforts related to workplace safety and environmental performance.
- Foster a culture of accountability and proactive hazard recognition throughout the organization.
- OSHA 30-Hour Certification required.
- Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification required.
- Minimum of 3 years of safety management experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of:
- OSHA 29 CFR 1910 General Industry Standards
- Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) regulations
- Industrial safety practices and procedures
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to effectively train employees at all levels.
- Experience conducting:
- Risk assessments
- Hazard analyses
- Root cause investigations
- Incident investigations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
- Ability to develop, implement, and maintain safety programs and procedures.
- Experience with incident reporting, documentation, and corrective action follow-up.
- Ability to lead audits, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Proven ability to build and sustain a proactive safety culture.
- Experience tracking and improving safety performance metrics including:
- TRIR (Total Recordable Incident Rate)
- DART (Days Away, Restricted, or Transferred) Rate
- Experience with ISO 14001 or other Environmental Management Systems.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
- Experience supporting manufacturing, assembly, or industrial production facilities.
