  • Attend project kickoff and preconstruction meetings to identify project-specific hazards and develop effective safety plans
  • Conduct routine field inspections, safety observations, and compliance audits while documenting findings and recommendations
  • Monitor adherence to OSHA, DOT, company, and client safety requirements
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, identify root causes, and assist with corrective action implementation
  • Encourage open communication and proactive hazard reporting throughout the organization
  • Assist with additional safety initiatives and special projects as needed

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of three years of construction safety experience, preferably within heavy civil construction
  • Experience supporting roadway, highway, underground utility, earthwork, excavation, or site development projects is highly preferred
  • Current CHST or CSP certification
  • OSHA 500 and OSHA 510 certifications required
  • Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations, DOT requirements, and construction safety best practices
  • Strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with field personnel and management

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary ranging from $65,000–$100,000, based on experience
  • Performance-based bonus opportunity
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Company-paid short-term and long-term disability coverage
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company match and profit sharing
  • Paid vacation, sick leave, and company holidays
