Pay: $30.31-$35.01 an hour
The Safety and Risk Lead for PARR will perform administrative tasks and services to support the Safety Department in strengthening the Company's safety culture. The Safety and Risk Lead works collaboratively with all Lumber, Manufacturing, and Warehouse Managers, Sales Managers, Facilities, Fleet, and Human Resources assisting and supporting the development and implementation of risk control initiatives to mitigate loss and impact to PARR and all employees. This role is vital to fulfilling our company mission of Legendary Service Through Teamwork.
The Safety and Risk Lead reports directly to the Safety and Risk Manager and works closely with HR, Fleet, Facilities, location Managers, and employees.
Duties and Responsibilities
Program Management
Manage Motiv safety response
Oversee Amphibious Medic onsite program
Oversee Redwing safety footwear program
Facilities
Responsible for managing Unifirst contract for restocking first aid supplies and AED monthly checks
Manage the communications and activities of the Safety committees
Perform incident reviews with location managers and upper management, if present
HR
Receive and process all Workers Compensation claims, and all that those entail
Follow up on all employee injuries with manager and employee
Work with location manager to create a modified job offer for all injured employees to mitigate time loss claims
Maintain and audit OSHA 300/301/300A data
Fleet
Receive and process all Property/Auto/GL claims; follow up with insurance company or yard manager as needed
DSC and FSC meeting facilitator; includes creating the presentation for the committee members
Input driver and forklift operator points into UKG and send out point notification to employee and their managers and/or supervisors
Document best practices and workflow steps to support onboarding, cross-training, and operational efficiency
Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Ability to speak, write, and read English required
- Class C driver's license and must have and maintain a good driving record required
- Must be able to type 40+ WPM
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Must be able to operate personal computer, telephone, photocopier, fax machine, scanner, and any other equipment necessary for the job
- Shoes that are puncture resistant, slip resistant, and made of leather or composite material required

- Ability to work cordially, professionally, diplomatically and with a high level of customer service in a dynamic environment.
- Ability and willingness to identify processes, tools and/or procedures that may be improved upon to improve the workplace and outcomes for our customers.
- Ability to communicate with all levels of management and employees at a high skill level and speak effectively in front of groups. Communication can include, but is not limited to: in-person (verbal and non-verbal), written, e-mail, telephone, and public speaking to medium size groups
- Strong focus, planning, organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage changing priorities, handle multiple projects, and do what is necessary to meet deadlines, while maintaining a high degree of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to function independently, as part of a team, and as a leader within your own sales cohort with a positive attitude, strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.
- Ability to think and respond quickly, positively, and professionally to constantly changing circumstances.
- Ability to appropriately manage stress and interact with others.
Working Conditions
The primary working conditions are an office environment with a computer. Local travel to PARR locations is required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to work indoors in a normal office environment for an entire day
- Must be able to grasp, talk, hear, and operate a computer and keyboard.
- Must be able to drive a vehicle when necessary
