Safety Training Manager + EM 385 experience, HI

We are seeking an experienced Safety Training Manager with expertise in EM 385-1-1 compliance to support a high profile project in Hawaii. This full-time role is ideal for a safety professional with a strong background in construction, government, and military safety training. The Safety Trainer will be responsible for developing and delivering training programs that ensure compliance with federal, state, and military safety regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and conduct safety training programs focused on EM 385-1-1, OSHA, and military safety standards.
• Provide on-site training sessions, toolbox talks, and safety briefings for project personnel.
• Ensure planning of training sessions. 
• Ensure all workers receive required safety certifications and refresher training as needed.
• Assist in the development of Accident Prevention Plans (APPs), Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs), and site-specific safety programs.
• Evaluate training effectiveness and update course materials to reflect regulatory changes.
• Conduct job site safety inspections and audits to identify training gaps.
• Maintain accurate training records and ensure compliance with contract safety requirements.
• Collaborate with the Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) and project managers to enhance the overall safety culture.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of training experience
• 5 years of EM 385 1-1 Compliance Regulations
• Verifiable work history in construction, industrial, or government projects
• Communication skills
• Current First Aid CPR Certification
• Familiar with Adult Learning Principles ANSIZ490.1
• Must be able to pass a DBIDS background check

Preferred:

• Current OSHA 500
• Current BCSP CIT (Current Instructional Trainer) 
• Training manager experience
