McAlvain Construction, a Big-D Company, has an opportunity for a Safety Training Specialist to join our team of construction professionals based in the Boise, ID area

INTERPERSONAL

  • Communicate effectively across all levels of the organization to identify training needs
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning
  • Support personal development initiatives and mentorship within the company
  • Lead by example, displaying exceptional people's skills, respect, and the ability to teach with patience
  • Function as a point of contact for training related questions, troubleshooting, and support
  • Ability to listen actively and understand the perspectives and needs of others, fostering an environment of trust and open communication.
  • Provide guidance on best practices for visual communication and presentation
  • Demonstrates awareness and sensitivity to diverse cultures and backgrounds, promoting an inclusive and respectful learning environment.

BUSINESS ACUMEN

  • Develop strong relationships across the organization, and with external partners, to support continuous learning and development.
  • Contribute to business growth by aligning training programs with strategic business
  • Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement across all levels and skillsets.
  • Exhibits creativity and resourcefulness in overcoming obstacles and finding effective solutions to challenges within the training domain.
  • Stays informed about industry trends, advancements in concrete technology, and competitive landscape to ensure that training content is relevant, up-to-date, and positions the company as a leader in its field.

TECHNICAL

  • Proficient in creating engaging in-person and digital content, including videos, PowerPoints, informational handouts, and eLearning modules, to enhance the learning experience for employees.
  • Assist in the planning and coordination of training events, workshops, and learning opportunities.
  • Facilitate instructor-led safety training for all company employees, including new hire orientations, refresher courses, and task-specific safety training.
  • Deliver training in a clear, engaging, and practical manner appropriate for a construction/field
  • Track attendance and completion of training sessions in the company's training management
  • Coordinate with safety, operations, and leadership teams to schedule and support training Upload employee safety training certifications, sign-in sheets, and supporting documentation into the company's training and safety recordkeeping system.
  • Ensure training records are accurate, complete, and up to date for compliance, audit, and reporting
  • Revamp existing safety orientation content to improve clarity, engagement, and
  • Ensure all training materials reflect current company standards, equipment, and regulatory
  • Ability to assess training effectiveness and make data-driven decisions to enhance learning
  • Utilizes data analytics tools to measure training effectiveness, analyze trends, and make evidence-based decisions to improve training
  • Understanding of curriculum design principles, including the ability to develop engaging and effective training materials tailored to adult learners in the construction industry.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

  • Experience managing and delivering training or facilitating groups (safety, operations, construction, or industrial setting preferred).
  • Strong verbal communication and presentation
  • Ability to engage and connect with a hands-on, field-based
  • 3+ years of experience in Learning and Development or equivalent
  • Demonstrable experience in developing training content across multiple
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, )
  • Safety certifications (OSHA 10/30, CPR/First Aid, equipment training) or ability to
  • Background in construction, concrete, or industrial safety.
