Position Summary

TheSalaried Payroll Manageris responsible for performing and managing all activities related to the salaried payroll function for the Ashley Companies. This role ensures payroll is processedaccurately, confidentially, and within strict deadlines, while maintaining full compliance with company policies and applicable regulations. The ideal candidate brings exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a continuous improvement mindset focused on process efficiency, internal controls, and risk mitigation.

Primary Job Functions

  • Manage and processsemi‑monthly salaried payrolls, ensuring timely and accurate payment to employees.
  • Ensure compliance withfederal, state, and local payroll regulationsas well as Ashley policies and procedures.
  • Maintain detailed documentation ofpayroll processes, controls, and proceduresto support audit readiness.
  • Research, analyze, and resolve payroll discrepancies or issues; escalate significant matters promptly to leadership.
  • Coordinate withIT and third‑party payroll providerson system issues, enhancements, and finance system updates.
  • Partner withHuman Resources and Benefitsteams to ensure accurate and timely payroll inputs; establish payroll calendars and deadlines.
  • Serve as a professionalpoint of contact for employees and leadersregarding salaried payroll inquiries.
  • Prepare and reviewpayroll journal entries, reconciliations, and related financial reporting.
  • Performquarterly and annual payroll tax reviewsand monthly account reconciliations.
  • Support theTax teamby providing reconciled payroll data across multiple systems.
  • Prepare and analyzemonthly comparisons of actual vs. budgeted salary expenses; identify variances and trends.
  • Identify, recommend, and implementcontinuous improvement initiatives, including automation, enhanced internal controls, and process efficiencies.
  • Safeguardhighly confidential employee and company informationat all times.
  • DemonstrateAshley’s Core and Growth Valuesin the performance of all job functions.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree inAccounting, Finance, Business, HR, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience inpayroll processing and payroll accounting, preferably in a multi‑entity or multi‑state environment.
  • Strong knowledge ofpayroll regulations, tax rules, and labor laws(federal, state, local).
  • Experience withpayroll systems and HRIS(e.g., Workday, ADP, UKG, or similar), along with strong Excel skills.
  • Demonstrated ability toanalyze data, reconcile accounts, and prepare journal entries.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to partner effectively with HR, Finance, IT, and business leaders.
  • High level ofintegrity, discretion, and professionalismwhen handling confidential information.

Preferred:

  • Experience in amanufacturing or large, multi‑location organization.
  • Prior experience supportingpayroll‑related audits and SOX/internal control environments.
  • Exposure toprocess improvement, automation tools, or lean methodologies.
