Job Description

The Fluid Conveyance Manager is responsible for developing and executing fluid conveyance sales strategy to achieve and exceed revenue and margin targets as well as identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, key accounts, and market expansion initiatives. He or she will be responsible for leading efforts to grow core product lines and introducing new technologies aligned with customer demand.

Specific responsibilities may include:

Sales Strategy and Planning

  • Develop and implement a strategic sales plan to achieve company revenue targets.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify business opportunities.
  • Create and justify sales plans to upper management.

Team Leadership

  • Maximize the potential of the sales team through effective leadership and motivation.
  • Set clear sales goals and objectives for the team.
  • Foster a positive and high-performance culture with the Fluid Conveyance sales department.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting

  • Produce monthly forecasting reports to evaluate team performance against targets and budgets.
  • Utilize key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of sales strategies.
  • Provide regular updates to upper management on sales progress.

Customer Acquisition

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients and accounts.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to implement effective customer acquisition strategies.

Education and Development

  • Stay abreast of industry trends through continuous education, workshops, seminars, and conferences.
  • Ensure the sales team is well-informed about product knowledge, industry changes, and customer needs.

Sales Process Management

  • Guide the sales team in effectively driving the sales process from planning to closure.
  • Identify areas for process improvement changes as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND TRAINING

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Industrial Distribution, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Certified Fluid Power Hydraulic Specialist (CFPS) is a plus.
  • Relevant technical certifications are beneficial.

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 10+ years of sales experience, preferably in fluid power, industrial distribution, or related technical industries.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving growth.
  • Experience in hydraulics, mechanical systems, or technical sales strongly preferred.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Strong sales leadership and team development capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to grow revenue and expand market share.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Solid understanding of hydraulic and/or mechanical systems.
  • High level of self-motivation, accountability, and strategic thinking.
