About the Position:

The Sales Representative sells new and used agricultural and turf equipment while serving as a trusted advisor to customers. This role focuses on understanding each customer’s operation, goals, and challenges and aligning equipment, precision agriculture technology, and digital solutions that improve productivity, efficiency, and long-term success. Sales Representatives build strong customer relationships, collaborate across departments, and follow a defined sales process to deliver value and results.

Responsibilities:

  • Represent Gooseneck Implement within an assigned territory by building and maintaining strong relationships with new and existing customers.
  • Learn, promote, and support equipment, precision agriculture technologies, connectivity solutions, and digital tools that improve customer operations.
  • Partner with customers to understand their business goals and recommend solutions that drive efficiency, performance, and return on investment.
  • Collaborate with Precision Ag, Service, and Parts teams to deliver integrated solutions and a seamless customer experience.
  • Maintain strong product and technology knowledge and conduct equipment and technology demonstrations, including field demonstrations.
  • Monitor customer business trends and competitive activity, communicating insights and opportunities to management.
  • Manage all customer interactions, opportunities, and account details within the CRM system.
  • Follow a defined sales process to manage leads, proposals, and follow-up.
  • Maintain working knowledge of financing options to support customer purchases.
  • Attend required sales, product, and technology training events.
  • Maintain assigned company vehicles and equipment.
  • Assist with evaluating used equipment and trade-ins as needed.

As Sales Representatives progress in the role, expectations expand to include full ownership of the sales process from initial quote through delivery and post-sale follow-up. High performers demonstrate strong financial discipline, professional presence, accountability for outcomes, and consistent follow-through to deliver a complete, high-quality customer experience. Detailed expectations for execution, financial rigor, deal ownership, delivery standards, and post-sale follow-up will be reinforced through onboarding and ongoing development plans.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • 1+ years of equipment sales, ag technology sales, account management, or related experience preferred.
  • Strong interest in or working knowledge of agricultural equipment, precision agriculture, or data-driven farming practices.
  • Preferred educational background in Agriculture, Precision Agriculture, Agronomy, Ag Business, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • Ability to build trust-based, consultative customer relationships.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and practically.
  • Financial and numeric reasoning skills, including understanding margins, pricing, and value-based selling.
  • Ability to manage time, territory, and priorities independently.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and internet-based tools.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret basic sales and territory performance reports.
  • High level of professionalism, accountability, and ownership.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends as needed.
  • Ability to perform essential physical functions of the role, including lifting up to 50 pounds and working around large agricultural equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation.
