POSITION SUMMARY
The Sales Representative is responsible for achieving and exceeding Company Sales goals pertaining to Sales growth and profitability; utilizing appropriate selling practices and various methods to introduce and promote both new and existing products/services to current and prospective customers responsibly and professionally.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Introduce, promote, and sell new and existing products/services utilizing proper selling practices to existing and prospective customers.
- Perform daily needs assessments for existing and potentially new customers.
- Develop and maintain a high level of positive rapport with business establishments as well as the local community you serve. Develop lasting relationships/partnerships.
- Achieve and exceed sales goals and targets as directed by the General Manager to drive sales revenue and profitability.
- Regularly visit and call on existing and prospective customers daily to provide competitive pricing and services.
- Maintain a concise record of account information; including contacts, ph#, email addresses, special requirements, etc.
- Work regularly with General Manager to determine strategies, price schedules, discounts, promotions, contracts, marketing programs, etc.
- Prepare various daily, weekly, monthly reports for review.
- Retrieve and place customer orders into the Company system.
- Utilize Company portal to retrieve customer information, stock status information, item codes, etc. to ensure correctness of order
- Supply General Manager with information and reports pertaining to customer needs, problems, interests, competition, marketplace information, etc. Provide recommendations to resolve issues.
- Perform product demonstrations if required.
- Clearly communicate and update customers on production issues, delays, concerns, and solutions.
- Be a contributing member to the Sales team and Company efforts.
- Perform ‘Cold Calling” regularly.
- Perform any other job functions as required by General Manager.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma; College Degree preferred
- One-year sales experience in the Seafood industry and/or two-year experience in Product Sales.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain a high degree of judgement, especially when working with information that is confidential in nature.
- Proven selling, communication, time management, organizational, and negotiation skills.
- Competent in computer skills: Microsoft Office Application-Excel, Word and Outlook, etc. Strong technical abilities.
- High level of interpersonal skills; Proven record of establishing positive rapport with various businesses and the community.
- Must have valid Driver’s license; current registration and vehicle insurance documents. Clean abstract required.
INTERPERSONAL INTERACTION
This position reports directly to the General Manager. On a daily basis, the person in this position will interact with customers and employees from various departments within the company. Ability to effectively communicate information and ideas with employees and customers so they will understand. Also, the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
