Introduction
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented professional to join our team as a Senior Sales Tax Accountant. This role is critical in ensuring compliance with state and local sales tax regulations and requires a strong background in accounting and finance.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Accounting degree
- 2 to 5 years of experience in accounting or finance
- Mandatory experience with sales tax
- Proficient in Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs
- Familiar with Oracle
- Strong communication skills
- Self-starter
- Prior work experience at client or in client's industry
- Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with high-volume transactional data entry
- Ability to research and resolve tax notices
- Experience in developing and managing compliance and reporting calendars
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Process and format large multi-entity sales tax data sets to meet state requirements
- File state and local sales tax returns through state and city websites
- Create schedules and assign work to team members
- Assist with property tax filings and maintain business license schedules
- Assist in preparing year-end schedules
