Position Overview

As a Salesforce Administrator / Developer, you will play a critical role in designing, operating, and scaling our Salesforce ecosystem across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Marketing Experience Cloud. Going well beyond traditional Salesforce administration, this role is responsible for the hands-on configuration, automation, and development of a Salesforce platform that is central to our mission-critical business operations and daily workflows. You will work in close partnership with the Senior Product Manager for Salesforce, serving as the primary technical owner and execution partner for the platform to ensure enhancements are thoughtfully designed, technically sound, and delivered in a way that balances speed, quality, and long-term platform health.

This position is ideal for a senior Salesforce Administrator with strong technical depth who is either already proficient in development or actively growing into a Salesforce Developer role. The role will initially focus on an approximate 70% Administration / 30% Development and advanced automation split, evolving toward a 50/50 balance as the platform matures and technical needs expand. This is not a junior or maintenance-only role; you will help design, build, and scale a Salesforce system that is trusted by the business, actively used every day, and designed to grow with the organization.

Essential Functions, Duties & Accountabilities

  • Own the day-to-day technical operation of the Salesforce platform, ensuring security, stability, scalability, and alignment with business needs.
  • Design and maintain Salesforce data models and configurations that support complex business structures and workflows.
  • Partner with the Senior Product Manager for Salesforce to translate roadmap priorities into technically sound, scalable solutions.
  • Lead Salesforce automation and solution design, leveraging Flows and approval processes while determining when custom development is required.
  • Develop and maintain custom Salesforce functionality using Apex, SOQL, and Lightning Web Components to support advanced use cases.
  • Manage Salesforce environments, testing, and releases to ensure high-quality, predictable delivery.
  • Monitor platform performance and data integrity, proactively identifying risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Continuously evolve platform architecture and technical standards to support growth, increasing development ownership over time.

Additional Functions, Duties & Accountabilities

  • This role will report to the Engineering Manager and collaborate closely with Product, Technology, and Business stakeholders.
  • Maintain flexibility in work schedule to meet business needs.
  • Actively contribute to platform strategy, architectural decisions, and long-term roadmap planning.
  • Participate in inter-departmental projects and initiatives as a Salesforce technical leader.
  • Support other teams and initiatives where Salesforce expertise adds value.

Requirements

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field.

Experience and Skills

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in Salesforce Administration and/or Salesforce Development roles with a strong focus on managing Salesforce Core (Sales Cloud and/or Service Cloud);Experience Cloud and Marketing integration experience strongly preferred.
  • Deep understanding of the Salesforce data model, automation capabilities, and integration architecture (e.g., Flows, Omni-Channel, CTI integrations, Process Builder, API integrations).
  • Strong hands-on experience with:
    • Salesforce Flows, validation rules, record types, page layouts
    • Data management, imports, deduplication, and data quality governance
    • Salesforce security model (OWD, roles, profiles, permission sets, sharing rules)
  • Development experience including:
    • Apex, SOQL, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Visualforce
    • REST and SOAP APIs; experience testing APIs using tools like Postman
    • Object-oriented programming concepts and design patterns
  • Familiarity with Salesforce CLI, source control (Git), and DevOps practices.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Comfortable owning architectural decisions, tradeoffs, and long-term platform health.
  • Self-directed, able to start tasks with minimal guidance and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Experience in retail or consumer CRM environments strongly preferred, with working knowledge of customer data structures, service workflows, and sales attribution models.
  • Background supporting call center or phone-based sales operations preferred, particularly within organizations focused on customer experience and operational efficiency.
  • Experience with digital commerce, marketing automation, or contact center technologies integrated with Salesforce is a plus.
  • Experience with Salesforce Data Cloud, AI features, or Agentforce concepts is preferred.

Certifications (Highly Desirable)

  • Salesforce Certified Administrator
  • Salesforce Certified Advanced Administrator
  • Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I (PDI); PDII a strong plus
  • Additional Salesforce Cloud certifications are a plus
