Job Description

  • Salesforce Developer - Loyalty Platform
  • Pay range - $80-85/Hour on W2
  • 6+ months contract
  • Raleigh, NC (Hybrid)
  • A Salesforce Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining custom features and functionalities within the Salesforce Community Cloud platform, utilizing Apex, Visualforce, Lightning components, and other Salesforce tools to create engaging and user-friendly community portals for customer interaction, knowledge sharing, and collaboration, while ensuring scalability and performance to meet business needs; they work closely with stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions and manage the full development lifecycle from design to deployment. Key Responsibilities Platform Development (Experience Cloud)
  • Build LWC for portal UIs (authenticated & guest paths), handle SEO/performance (LWR), and protect data via sharing sets, audiences, and guest user hardening.
  • Implement self-service features (case creation, knowledge, entitlement checks) and partner features (deal registration, PRM workflows).
  • Integrate SSO (SAML/OIDC) and external identity; manage external user lifecycle (registration, Just-in-Time provisioning).
  • Secure external endpoints: enforce field-level security (FLS), data masking in lower envs, rate limiting strategies via platform/middleware.
  • Platform Development (Sales Cloud)
  • Model Lead Account/Contact Opportunity processes; implement assignment, validation, and automation with Flows (before/after save) and Apex where complexity/limits require it.
  • Implement forecasting, territory, product & price logic alignment; collaborate with CPQ/ERP teams.
  • Build productivity experiences: seller workspaces in LWC, activity capture alignment, Outlook/Gmail integration guardrails.
  • Custom Code & Patterns
  • Write Apex (sync/async): Queueables, Batch, Schedulable, Platform Events, CDC consumers; ensure bulk-safe and idempotent logic.
  • Use Composite, Bulk v2 APIs; implement Named Credentials, External Services (OpenAPI), and callout patterns with timeouts/retries.
  • Optimize data access: selective SOQL, skinny/index strategies (in partnership with SF support), handling LDV (Large Data Volume).
  • Integration Engineering
  • Design and implement integrations via API-led (System/Process/Experience APIs) and event-driven (Platform Events, CDC Kafka/Event Hub/MuleSoft) patterns.
  • Manage auth flows (OAuth 2.0 JWT, client credentials), token lifecycle, secrets rotation.
  • Build error handling (retry/backoff, DLQ, poison message handling), idempotency keys, and correlation IDs for observability.
  • Coordinate MDM integration (golden records), enforce survivorship rules, dedupe and enrichment streams.
  • Quality, Security, and DevOps
  • Author unit tests (meaningful e75% coverage), create integration & regression suites, and contribute to test data strategies.
  • Participate in code reviews, static analysis (PMD), and guardrails for Flows vs Apex usage.
  • Implement source-driven dev (SFDX, unlocked packages), CI/CD (GitHub Actions/Azure DevOps/Jenkins, or Copado/Gearset), org/environment strategy, and data seeding.
  • Enforce least privilege access, Shield encryption where applicable, event monitoring dashboards for critical paths.
  • Essential Skills & Tools Salesforce Stack
  • Apex, LWC, SOQL/SOSL, Flow , Platform Events, CDC, External Services.
  • Experience Cloud: LWR templates, Experience Builder, sharing sets, moderation rules, external identity.
  • Sales Cloud: Leads/Opportunities/Forecasting/Territory, Activity Capture, Reports & Dashboards.
  • Integration & Middleware
  • REST/SOAP, Bulk API v2, Composite, GraphQL (if available in your org), Named Credentials, OAuth/SAML/OIDC.
  • Azure Integration Services , Kafka/Event Hubs.
  • Patterns: Request/Reply, Pub/Sub, Event Sourcing, API-led connectivity.
  • Data & Performance
  • LDV strategies, asynchronous processing, caching approaches for portals, governor limit awareness, selective queries.
  • Data quality: duplicates, survivorship, reference data sync.
  • DevOps & Observability
  • SFDX , unlocked packages, scratch orgs, Git workflows, CI/CD pipelines.
  • Logging/monitoring: platform logs, Event Monitoring, API gateway analytics, synthetic checks.
  • Security & Compliance
  • FLS/CRUD , object/record sharing, guest user hardening, Shield (at rest), TLS/mTLS, PII/PCI/PHI handling, audit trails.
  • Preferred Background & Certifications
  • 5 8+ years on Salesforce; 2+ in Experience Cloud and Sales Cloud at scale.
  • Platform Developer I/II, Experience Cloud Consultant, Sales Cloud Consultant.
  • Nice to have: System/Integration Architect, MuleSoft Developer/Architect.
