Job Description
Summary:
The Trash Compactor is responsible for assisting in the overall cleanliness of the plant, mainly the trash.
Department: Sanitation
Shift available: 3rd shift (11pm - 7am)

Essential Functions:
- Place trash in the Dumpster and Cardboard/shrink wrap in to bailing equipment to compact and band for sell to scrap dealers. Maintain work area in a clean and orderly manner so that it can receive incoming baskets of trash.
- Sort Pallets into reusable and broken (sell off) stacks.
- Maintain locks and security for cleaning supplies (Chemical room) making sure the employee receiving the chemicals signs appropriately for them.
- Operates Fork Lift to move bailed scrap from one area to the other.
- Completes paperwork as needed.
- Follows safety & sanitation rules
- Keeps outside area by Dumpsters clean and the Vinegar Pit area by Liquids.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications:
- 6+ months on job
- High school diploma or equivalent education, experience, and/or training
Work Environment: The job is performed in production areas where the person will be exposed to strong aromas, airborne dust particles emanating from ingredients being used, and will be in the presence of or otherwise operating machinery.
