Position Overview:
KODA Technologies is seeking a Scenario Designer to join the team responsible for Missile Defense System (MDS) Ground Test (GT) scenario design and planning for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). MDA GTs are used to assess our nation's defense systems through a variety of HWIL and simulation tests. The Scenario Design team uses its understanding of how each of these systems work and interoperate to build the tests. Our knowledge is constantly growing. The team is also developing cutting-edge tools on the latest hardware. The qualified candidate will be able to analyze requirements and constraints, utilize existing tools and provide input for future tool development, and quickly learn the MDS. This candidate loves to put puzzles together, analyze everything, continually learn, innovate, and produce excellent products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gather and maintain requirements from the element/system/warfighter stakeholders in order to develop optimal test scenarios. Requires interaction with stakeholders to ensure proper understanding of the requirements and BMD capabilities being tested.
- A threat repository, using externally flow and internally generated (TGx, Omega) threat trajectories, is used to build the test scenarios.
- Use sensor/weapon simulations and analytical tools to evaluate the threat engagement space and determine the requirements feasibility. If feasible, a set of qualifying trajectories can be combined into raids and test cases to ensure the optimal coverage of the desired requirements within minimum testing resources. If not feasible, provide reasoning or recommended alternatives that still allow for testing of BMD capability.
- Provide testing support and direction for the software team on the simulation and analysis tools used in the scenario design process.
- Build standard products (Scenario Matrix, Scenario Design Review, Test Case Design Review) that capture the results of the scenario design test cases. Respond to stakeholder questions and concerns, iterating to a community-accepted design used for ground test execution.
Qualifications:
- BS in Engineering, Math, Computer Science, Physics, or similar technical discipline
- 5-10 years of experience in system analysis or characterization of MDS components (e.g., GMD, THAAD, Aegis, Patriot, CD, UEWR, SBX, TPY-2, LRDR, etc.) to include weapon system and/or radar analysis experience
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
- Able to track multiple tasks at the same time
- Highly motivated and committed to completing tasks with excellence and within deadlines
- Ability to work within a fast-paced team environment
- Active SECRET clearance
Desired Skills:
- Experience with SQL, Tableau, and/or Python
Clearance: Must be a U.S. citizen and hold an Active DoD Secret clearance
