Position Type: Part-Time/Full-Time
Job SummaryThe Bus Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently transporting students to and from school, as well as to and from school-related events and activities. This role requires adherence to all transportation safety regulations and policies while providing a positive and supportive environment for students during their commute.
Key Responsibilities• Safe Transportation: Operate school buses in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.• Route Management: Follow designated routes and schedules for student pick-up and drop-off, ensuring timely arrival at all destinations.• Student Supervision: Monitor student behavior while on the bus, ensuring a safe and respectful environment. Address any issues that arise in a calm and professional manner.• Pre-Trip and Post-Trip Inspections: Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus, ensuring that all safety equipment is functional and that the vehicle is in good working condition.• Communication: Maintain open lines of communication with the Transportation Manager, reporting any issues with the bus, routes, or student behavior promptly.• Emergency Preparedness: Be prepared to handle emergencies and follow established protocols for student safety, including conducting safety drills as required.• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of student ridership, incidents, and any other relevant transportation documentation.• Collaboration with School Staff: Work collaboratively with school staff and administrators to support transportation needs for school events and activities.• Professional Development: Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance driving skills and knowledge of safety practices.
Qualifications
- Truck Driving and Defensive Driving skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- CDL Class B license
- Ability to work independently and remotely
- Experience in the education industry is a plus
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with children is beneficial
