Job Title: School PsychologistLocation: Rock Hill, SC 29730Schedule: School-based opportunityEmployment Type: ContractPosition OverviewBirch Agency is seeking a dedicated and experienced School Psychologist to support students in a school-based setting in Rock Hill, South Carolina.This opportunity is ideal for a School Psychologist who is passionate about supporting student success through comprehensive evaluations, behavioral interventions, mental health support, and collaboration with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams.The School Psychologist will provide psychoeducational assessments, participate in special education eligibility processes, support MTSS initiatives, and help develop effective academic and behavioral strategies to create a safe and inclusive learning environment for students.Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational assessments and evaluations to determine student eligibility for special education and related services.
- Administer, score, interpret, and analyze psychological and educational assessments.
- Prepare detailed evaluation reports and communicate findings to school teams and families.
- Participate as an active member of IEP, eligibility, MTSS, and problem-solving teams.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, and support staff regarding student learning, behavior, mental health, and intervention strategies.
- Assist with the development and implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and academic support strategies.
- Provide counseling, crisis intervention, and short-term student support services when appropriate.
- Support evidence-based practices that improve student achievement, social-emotional development, and overall well-being.
- Monitor student progress and provide recommendations for educational programming and interventions.
- Maintain accurate, confidential student records in compliance with district procedures, state regulations, and federal requirements.
- Provide consultation and professional development related to behavior management, mental health, and student support services.
- Collaborate with community agencies and outside service providers when needed.
- Stay current on developments, laws, regulations, and best practices related to school psychology.
- Valid South Carolina School Psychologist certification required.
- Master s degree in School Psychology required.
- Completion of school psychology internship experience required.
- Experience supporting students with special education needs preferred.
- Experience with classroom support, behavioral interventions, and academic programming preferred.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Psychological assessment tools and interpretation
- Child development and learning theories
- Behavioral intervention strategies
- Special education laws and regulations
- Data analysis and intervention planning
- Ability to analyze assessment data and develop effective recommendations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, educators, and administrators.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise professional judgment.
- Ability to adapt to changing student needs and educational environments.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
