Job Title: School Psychologist
Location: Georgetown, DE
Minimum Qualifications:
Must hold or be eligible for State of Delaware Certification.
Special Education Certification preferred.
Highly Qualified Status as per No Child Left Behind (NCLB).
Strong working knowledge of Response to Intervention (RTI) strategies.
Proficiency in diagnostic procedures and instructional modifications.
Clean criminal background check, tuberculosis (TB) test, and Child Protection Registry clearance required before the start of employment.
Primary Responsibilities:
Work on-site at the assigned school location.
Review referrals for individual student evaluations to determine appropriate interventions.
Conduct assessments in alignment with federal, state, and local guidelines based on students' needs.
Participate in IST (Instructional Support Team) and IEP (Individualized Education Program) meetings, providing recommendations for instructional interventions, curriculum modifications, and accommodations.
Collaborate with teachers to analyze student performance, observe students in classroom settings, and document findings.
Prepare school psychologist assessments and integrate external appraisal reports into the final evaluation report.
Ensure all student records, IST/RTI documentation, and necessary vision and hearing screenings are complete before assessments.
Engage in IST meetings to determine disability eligibility.
Adhere to all federal timelines for student assessments and written reports.
Apply the RTI problem-solving model and promote teamwork and collaboration among colleagues.
Consult with external agencies when additional expertise or resources are required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
