Job Description
Primary Duties
Work in-person at the assigned building.
Review referrals for individual evaluations and determine appropriate interventions.
Conduct student assessments when individual evaluations are deemed necessary, ensuring findings are properly communicated.
Administer standardized tests based on federal, state, and local guidelines, adapting to student needs.
Participate in IST/IEP meetings, providing recommendations for instructional interventions, curriculum modifications, and student accommodations.
Observe student performance in regular education settings, write observation reports, and select/administer appropriate assessments.
Prepare the school psychologist's portion of the written assessment report and integrate other appraisal findings before notifying the teacher of completion.
Review student referrals to verify completeness of IST/RTI documentation, ensure outside data is requested, and confirm vision/hearing screenings are conducted.
Participate in IST meetings to determine disability eligibility.
Ensure adherence to federal timelines for assessments and written assessment reports.
Implement the RTI problem-solving model, fostering collegiality and team-building.
Consult with outside agency personnel when necessary.
Perform additional related duties as required.
Qualifications
Must hold or be eligible for State of Delaware Certification
Special Education Certification preferred.
Highly Qualified Status as per No Child Left Behind (NCLB) guidelines.
Working knowledge of Response To Intervention (RTI) strategies.
Familiarity with diagnostic procedures and instructional modifications.
Clean Criminal Background Check, TB Test, and Child Protection Registry Clearance required before employment begins.
