Pay: $48.00 - $59.00 per hour
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced School Psychologist to join our educational team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive psychological services to students, supporting their social-emotional development, mental health, and academic success. Your expertise will facilitate the creation of safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environments. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in student assessment, behavioral management, and collaboration with families and educational staff to promote positive outcomes for students with diverse needs.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments including diagnostic evaluations, social-emotional student assessments, and behavioral health evaluations to inform individualized education plans (IEPs) and support strategies.
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions focused on social-emotional development, mental health support, and behavioral management for students with disabilities or emotional challenges.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, special education staff, families, and external professionals to develop and implement effective intervention plans tailored to each student’s needs.
- Lead crisis intervention efforts by managing safety plans, conflict resolution, and crisis management procedures to ensure student well-being.
- Administer psychological testing and behavioral assessments to identify learning disabilities, developmental delays, autism spectrum disorders, or other special education needs.
- Support early intervention initiatives by conducting intake assessments and developing appropriate support strategies for students at risk.
- Maintain detailed medical documentation, psychological testing records, and case notes in compliance with legal standards such as special education law.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to review student progress and adjust intervention plans accordingly.
- Implement applied behavior analysis (ABA) techniques when appropriate to support behavioral improvements.
- Engage in ongoing professional development related to school psychology practices, special education law, and mental health interventions.
Requirements
- Valid state certification or licensure as a School Psychologist or equivalent credential.
- Proven experience working with children in educational settings, particularly with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism.
- Strong knowledge of special education assessments, behavior management strategies, and social-emotional student assessments.
- Familiarity with IEP development processes and compliance with special education law.
- Experience conducting psychological testing including cognitive assessments and behavioral evaluations.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating effectively with students, families, educators, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to manage multiple cases efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in documentation.
- Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques and conflict management strategies.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive environment that supports diversity among students.
