Reports To: Director of Student Services / Building Principal
Position Overview
The School Psychologist supports students’ academic, behavioral, and emotional growth by conducting assessments, developing intervention strategies, and collaborating with educators, families, and community partners. This full-time role plays a vital part in creating safe, inclusive, and mentally healthy learning environments for all students.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational and behavioral assessments to evaluate student needs.
- Interpret testing data and prepare detailed, actionable evaluation reports.
- Participate in eligibility meetings and contribute to the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 Plans.
- Provide individual and group counseling to support social–emotional and behavioral health.
- Consult with teachers, administrators, and parents to design effective academic and behavioral interventions.
- Promote school-wide mental health initiatives, such as wellness campaigns and prevention programs targeting bullying, attendance, and crisis response.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams using data-driven decision-making to monitor progress and evaluate outcomes.
- Assist with crisis intervention and support students experiencing emotional distress or trauma.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree or higher in School Psychology, Educational Psychology, or a related field.
- State certification/licensure (or eligibility) as a School Psychologist.
- Successful completion of a supervised internship in school psychology (1,200 hours preferred).
- Strong communication, analytical, and collaborative skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP) credential.
- Experience implementing multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) and conducting data-based interventions.
- Familiarity with behavioral consultation, trauma-informed practices, and social-emotional learning frameworks.
