Help Students Reach Their Potential

TX-STAR Speech Language Services works with school districts across Texas to connect students with specialized psychological, behavioral, and educational support. We are currently recruiting School Psychologists for school-based assignments in El Paso and nearby communities.

These opportunities are well suited for professionals who use assessment, consultation, and evidence-based decision-making to help students overcome learning, behavioral, and social-emotional challenges.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a School Psychologist, you will collaborate with campus teams and families to identify student needs, guide special education decisions, and recommend appropriate educational and behavioral supports.

In this role, you will:

  • Plan and complete psychological and educational evaluations in accordance with district procedures and required timelines

  • Select, administer, score, and interpret cognitive, academic, behavioral, and social-emotional assessment measures

  • Integrate test results, observations, records, and stakeholder input into clear evaluation reports

  • Help multidisciplinary teams determine eligibility and identify appropriate services and supports

  • Provide assessment findings and recommendations for the development and review of Individualized Education Programs

  • Consult with teachers, administrators, and families regarding student performance, intervention needs, and behavioral concerns

  • Support campus teams in creating classroom strategies and individualized behavior intervention plans

  • Offer counseling support and evidence-based approaches that promote student well-being and educational progress

  • Present findings and explain recommendations during ARD and IEP meetings

  • Conduct reevaluations in compliance with applicable state and federal requirements

  • Maintain organized case records, reports, service documentation, and other required compliance materials

Qualifications for This Position

  • Master’s degree in School Psychology or a related discipline

  • Current Texas license or credential permitting practice as a School Psychologist

  • Experience administering and interpreting cognitive, achievement, behavioral, and social-emotional assessments

  • Knowledge of special education evaluation procedures, eligibility standards, legal requirements, and documentation expectations

  • Strong report-writing, presentation, consultation, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability to work effectively with families, educators, administrators, and multidisciplinary professionals

  • Capacity to manage multiple evaluations, meetings, deadlines, and campus responsibilities

  • Bilingual communication skills in English and Spanish are preferred

  • Available placement arrangements may include:

    • Full-time assignments

    • Part-time schedules

  • Travel between campuses may be required for certain positions

  • Assignments are coordinated according to professional credentials, experience, availability, and district demand
