Job description:

Science Instructor (STEM Discovery Program)

Athletes Global Corporation is seeking an enthusiastic and engaging Science Instructor to lead our STEM Discovery summer program for students ages 6-12. This hands-on program introduces students to science, engineering, technology, innovation, and problem-solving through exciting projects and interactive learning experiences.

The ideal candidate enjoys working with youth, can manage a classroom independently, and has experience teaching or facilitating STEM-related activities.

Program Details

Location: District Heights Parks & Recreation, District Heights, MD
Dates: June 23, 2026 - July 30, 2026
Schedule: Tuesdays & Thursdays
Ages 6-9: 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Ages 10-12: 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM

Responsibilities

Lead engaging STEM lessons for students - take home invention project
Engineering build kits and technology exploration activities
Facilitate hands-on science experiments and engineering challenges
Guide students through invention and technology exploration activities
Create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
Showcase materials
Manage classroom behavior and maintain student engagement
Communicate professionally with program staff and site personnel
Arrive prepared and on time for all scheduled classes
STEM Discovery Journal, Certificates and recognition awards

Preferred Qualifications

Experience teaching, coaching, tutoring, mentoring, or leading youth programs
Background in Science, STEM, Engineering, Education, Technology, Robotics, or related fields
Ability to explain concepts in a fun and age-appropriate manner
Strong classroom management and communication skills
Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply

Requirements

Must pass a background check
Experience teaching in a classroom
Reliable transportation
