Scientist – Protein & Structural Biology – Lentigen Technology, Inc.

Gaithersburg, MD

Duties:

Conduct computational modeling and simulations of protein structures. Collaborate with experimental biologists to design new constructs and mutants based on structural analysis. Develop computational methodologies and strategies in analysis of proteins. Develop and maintain databases for protein structures. Utilize machine learning techniques for pattern recognition and predictive modeling in protein engineering.

Requirements:

• PhD in Biochemistry, Biochemical Engineering or related field
• One year of experience as Researcher or related occupation
• Demonstrated experience with: server-based structure prediction methods (I-TASSER), predictive modeling using Python and Linux command line, protein crystallization and crystallography, protein expression and characterization, assay design, designing and executing immune cell function assays, determining antigen specific cytotoxicity and T cell proliferation, utilizing RT-PCR and qPCR to analyze cell expression, multicolor flow cytometry, and immunohistochemistry

The anticipated base salary range has been established at $116,854 - $128,702.00 / year.

Must have ability to handle more than one task at a time and must work at a rapid pace while maintaining attention to detail. Must be able to travel routinely by car and plane.

Work Environment:

This job is performed in a temperature-controlled facility without exposure to extreme hot or cold temperatures. Generally, this job is performed in a sanitized laboratory setting and routinely uses standard medical and research equipment such as centrifuges, biosafety cabinets, microscopes, incubators, pipettes and computers. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to blood, viruses, bacteria, body fluids and other tissues. Employees entering and leaving the laboratory must wear appropriate clothing and protective equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
