Job Description
Job Title: Scrum Master Job Location: Lincoln, NE (Local candidates in onsite settings preferred) Job Duration: 12 months Job Summary:
- We are looking for an experienced Scrum Master to coach, oversee, and guide agile (Scrum/Kanban) teams. The Scrum Master's responsibilities will include ensuring that development teams follow appropriate agile framework values and agile practices (Scrum or Kanban), mentoring and motivating the teams to improve processes, facilitating meetings and decision-making processes, and eliminating team impediments.
- Guide and support Agile teams by facilitating Scrum ceremonies, and team level PI planning activities
- Servant Leader building and cultivating high-performing teams by creating a safe environment of trust and transparency. Coach teams toward higher levels of maturity, predictability, and self organization.
- Ensure healthy backlogs, clear priorities, and well understood work.
- Support & coach the team in cultivating a refined, ready backlog and writing clear, concise testable acceptance criteria.
- Ensure teams are delivering work in alignment with sprint goals and release timelines.
- Remove any impediments or roadblocks that may affect the team's ability to deliver. Partner with leadership to resolve dependencies and constraints.
- Leverage data to develop and report key metrics to inform decisions and improvements.
- Advocate for continuous improvement, using metrics and data-driven insights
- Coach team members on Agile principles, practices, and frameworks. Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous learning.
- Organize and conduct training sessions to enhance team members skills in Agile methodologies
- Utilize tools such as Jira to measure and analyze key Agile metrics to drive continuous team improvement
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and implementing process improvements and Agile best practices.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration between teams and individuals, promoting a positive and productive work environment.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a relevant field preferred
- Scrum Master Certification
- Proven experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach for software development teams
- Working knowledge of other agile frameworks (e.g., Kanban, Lean) and their application is a plus
- Experience with Agile project management tools and software development methodologies
- Strong facilitation and leadership skills, with the ability to foster collaboration and build effective working relationships.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills
- Ability to adapt and be flexible in a fast-paced and changing environment
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
