Senior Scrum Master / Project Manager (Healthcare & PBM) - W2 Remote

Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Scrum Master / Project Manager to lead and drive complex healthcare and Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) initiatives. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional who can effectively blend Agile delivery leadership with strong project management practices to ensure successful execution, risk mitigation, and stakeholder alignment.
The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with a strong presence, excellent communication skills, and the tenacity to drive projects to completion. This individual will excel at managing risks, facilitating cross-functional collaboration, and ensuring accountability across teams while maintaining a focus on business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Agile teams as a Scrum Master while applying project management best practices to deliver strategic initiatives.
- Drive project planning, execution, tracking, and reporting across multiple workstreams.
- Identify, manage, and proactively mitigate project risks, issues, and dependencies.
- Facilitate Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement sessions.
- Partner with business, technology, and operational stakeholders to ensure alignment on priorities, deliverables, and timelines.
- Foster accountability and ensure action items are followed through to completion.
- Provide clear, consistent, and proactive communication to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Monitor project health, remove impediments, and support teams in achieving delivery objectives.
- Develop and maintain project documentation, status reports, and executive-level updates.
- Promote continuous improvement and Agile best practices while maintaining a practical, delivery-focused mindset.
Required Qualifications
- 5 10 years of experience in Scrum Master, Project Manager, or hybrid Agile delivery leadership roles.
- Experience within Healthcare and/or Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) environments is required.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, Scrum framework, and project management principles.
- Proven ability to manage risks, drive issue resolution, and ensure successful project delivery.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated leadership presence and ability to influence without direct authority.
- Strong organizational, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working in cross-functional, matrixed environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing large-scale healthcare technology, operations, or transformation initiatives.
- Scrum Master, PMP, SAFe, or other relevant Agile certifications.
- Demonstrated career progression with increasing levels of responsibility and leadership.
- Ability to balance Agile coaching with practical project execution and delivery management.
