The Kane County Cougars are looking for grounds crew members to join our team! The Seasonal Grounds Crew prepares, maintains, and repairs the ballpark field before, during, and after games. Responsibilities include sod installation, mowing, trimming, equipment operation and maintenance, infield and mound upkeep, tarp handling, and field painting. The ideal candidate has experience with hand tools and motorized equipment, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Physical stamina to lift up to 50 pounds, stand or walk for extended periods, and work in varying weather conditions is required, along with flexibility for days, nights, weekends, holidays, and special event dates.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

Prepare the field for game, maintain during the game, and repair the field after game.
Sod cutting and installations.
Mowing, trimming, and use of blowers.
Basic equipment maintenance skills.
Field marketing and logo painting.
Tarp pulling during inclement weather.
Infield, mound and home plate building/maintenance.
Other duties may be assigned.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Skill in the use of a variety of hand tools and motorized equipment.
Working knowledge of the maintenance of sports field.
Must be able to work Opening Day and July 3rd.
Ability to stand, sit and walk for 5-8 hours throughout the ballpark.
Ability to lift, pull, push and/or carry 50 pounds as necessary.
Ability to work in a fast-pace environment.
Strong individual and team work ethic.
High level of integrity.
Required to work flexible schedule, including but not limited to days, nights, weekends and holidays.
