Security Associate

We are looking for a professional, dependable, and people-oriented individual to join as a Security Associate. The Security Associate represents the initial interaction with all employees, members, visitors, and vendors at the GTE Headquarters. The Security Associate must possess excellent customer service skills, decision-making skills, and a cordial attitude representative of the GTE culture. In addition to managing the main lobby, the Security Associate must remain vigilant to all actions occurring at the GTE Headquarters, adjacent properties, and events occurring on surveillance equipment at the Community Financial Centers.

What does GTE look for in a Security Associate?

Security:

• Preserves order and enforces guidelines and directives for the site about personnel, visitors, and premises.
• Tours premises or monitors grounds via surveillance equipment.
• Greet and direct visitors, provide temporary visitor IDs, and maintain visitors’ logs.
• Responds to security breaches and prepares and files reports describing incidents, accidents, or intruders.
• Participates in industry-specific security/safety training programs.
• Works in environments and under conditions requiring the carrying of authorized weapons and ammunition, using protective gear and devices while maintaining awareness of personal safety and safety of others.
• Abides by all policies, procedures, and protocols outlined in the departmental, GTE Financial employee, operational, and administrative policy manuals.
• Effective oral/written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Manages email communications.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities required:

• Display exceptional customer service skills.
• Must possess an approved firearm with a Level 3 retention holster.
• Capable of possessing and maintaining required Florida Department of Agriculture “D” and “G” licenses.
• Capable of firearms qualification.
• Possess at least one year of experience in the Security Industry.
• Apply Crisis Management techniques when applicable.
• Basic use of Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) and digital surveillance equipment.

Physical Requirements:

• Climb stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally during shift.
• 20/20 vision with or without corrective lenses.
• Stand or walk on various surfaces for extended periods of time.
• Occasionally lift or carry up to forty pounds.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Completed certified Basic Security Guard course of instruction.
• One year of experience in the Security Industry.

Position Details:

• Location:  Downtown Tampa – GTE Headquarters
• Department Hours:  Monday– Friday (8:00 am to 4:30 pm)

Full-time hours are required, with additional hours necessary to accomplish objectives, goals, and projects.

Work arrangement – In office.
