Job Description

Job Position: Security & Access Control Technician

Location: Austin, TX 78758

Pay Rate:$35 $42 per Hour

TradSTAR is hiring experienced Security & Access Control Technicians for commercial low-voltage projects throughout the Austin area. We're looking for technicians with experience installing, servicing, programming, and troubleshooting access control, intrusion, and integrated security systems.

• Responsibilities• Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot access control and security systems.• Install card readers, door contacts, REX devices, electric strikes, magnetic locks, request-to-exit devices, and power supplies.• Install and configure IP and network-based access control systems.• Program and troubleshoot controllers, field devices, and system hardware.• Install and service intrusion alarm systems and integrated security devices.• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, riser drawings, and project specifications.• Install conduit, cable pathways, and low-voltage cabling.• Test and commission systems to ensure proper operation.• Complete service documentation and maintain quality, code-compliant installations.

• Qualifications• 3+ years of commercial access control and security system experience preferred.• Experience with one or more of the following platforms:• o LenelS2• o Software House CCURE• o Genetec• o Avigilon• o Brivo• o Openpath• o Gallagher• o Honeywell Pro-Watch• o Verkada• Experience installing and troubleshooting electric strikes, maglocks, request-to-exit devices, readers, controllers, and door hardware.• Knowledge of low-voltage wiring, relay logic, and IP networking.• Ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams.• Experience using multimeters and cable test equipment.• Valid driver's license required.
