Job Description:
SUMMARY:
Responsible for properly executing security duties on assigned shift to protect the life and property of guests, Team Members and the company's assets, as well as providing field training to Security Officers. Supervises Security Officers on assigned shift and assumes duties in the absence of the Security Sergeant. Assists in coordinating emergency medical response, including CPR, AED, and First Aid, when EMT staff are unavailable, already engaged, or when directed by management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following; other duties may be assigned:
- Interacts effectively with the public and Team Members, delivering excellent customer service at all times.
- Supervises Security Officers on assigned shift. Provides leadership, direction, and coaching to ensure proper task execution and readiness to respond to incidents.
- Escorts and observes guests and Team Members to ensure their safety and protection; identifies potential safety hazards and reports them for proper resolution.
- Generates accurate written reports regarding security-related incidents involving guests, Team Members and/or the facility.
- Provides leadership, training and knowledge to all new Security Officers in the Field Training Program and refresher training provided to Security Officers.
- Participates directly in the field training of new Security Officers.
- Assumes the duties and responsibilities of Security Sergeant in their absence.
- Responds to disturbances or conflicts, enforcing entry restrictions (e.g., minors, intoxicated guests) and applying de-escalating techniques.
- Maintains awareness of hazardous materials used on property and applicable regulations to ensure safety and compliance.
- Acts as a Dispatcher during emergencies, coordinates response, and informs outside agencies of unusual or suspicious situations.
- Operates company vehicles as directed.
- Maintains working knowledge of the company's facilities and special events to assist guests and Team Members.
- Ensures safe transportation of company monies and gaming tokens; assists in the opening and closing of the gaming tables.
- Ensures a maximum level of customer service and satisfaction throughout the property is achieved and maintained.
- Facilitates the flow of information by attending regularly scheduled departmental meetings.
- Maintains effective communication to the chain of command regarding changes in status or emergencies within the Security Department or casino property.
- Maintains and manages key control, accessing locked areas as necessary.
- Assists valet and shuttle drivers as needed.
- Assists with traffic flow.
- Monitors all areas of the property, identifying potential security, medical, and/or safety risks and reporting or responding appropriately for resolution.
- Protects company assets and integrity through consistent, thorough monitoring of property activities. Utilizes equipment to identify, document and report illegal, suspicious or unusual activities.
- Coordinates with Security Shift Supervisor when incidents require further investigation or attention.
- Maintains confidentiality of all investigations and sensitive information.
- Demonstrates professional conduct at all times, including in public and online forums, consistent with company policies.
- Maintains and augments personal skills through review, study, and training.
- Maintains a consistent, regular attendance.
- Performs any reasonable request made by management.
- Maintains professional personal hygiene and adheres to company grooming and uniform standards. Must report to work clean, well-groomed, and in proper uniform to uphold a professional image and ensure a positive guest experience.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Directly supervises Security Officers and EMT's on assigned shift.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizational policies, procedures, regulations, ordinances, and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include training Team Members; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining Team Members; addressing complaints and resolving problems and providing the necessary documentation for the above.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or GED required.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of one (1) year experience in law enforcement or gaming security preferred. One (1) year experience in Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casino Security Department preferred. Excellent communication skills required. Must be flexible in the hours, days and shifts. Must posses and maintain current certification in CPR, AED, and First Aid (training provided post-probationary period). Certification must remain active throughout employment.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write clear and accurate reports and correspondence.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common-sense reasoning to a variety of situations. Ability to carry out instructions in written, oral or diagram form.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a Team Member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to talk or hear. The Team Member is also regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls. The Team Member is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, sit, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The Team Member must be physically capable of performing CPR, utilizing an AED, and assisting with lifting or moving guests and Team Members during medicals. The Team Member is regularly required to lift and/or move up to fifty pounds and occasionally up to one hundred pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a Team Member encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
The Team Member is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud on the casino floor. The Team Member will be exposed to a smoke-filled environment. The position may require working in high-stress emergencies involving medical incidents, evacuations, or law enforcement response.
