Position: Security Guard

Pay: $21.50 per hour

Hours: Monday- Friday: 4pm- 1am

Job Description:

Security Guards play a critical role in protecting our employees, visitors, facilities, and company assets while helping maintain a safe and secure environment. They’re responsible for monitoring access points, verifying identification and employee badges, inspecting incoming vehicles, monitoring surveillance systems, and responding to security concerns or incidents. Security Guards serve as an important first line of protection for the facility and are expected to remain alert, professional, and prepared to respond appropriately to potential security risks.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor facility access points and ensure only authorized personnel, visitors, and vehicles enter the premises.
• Verify employee badges, identification, visitor credentials, and vehicle access according to established security procedures.
• Patrol and monitor the facility and surrounding property to identify and deter unauthorized activity or security concerns.
• Monitor surveillance cameras and security systems for suspicious activity, disruptions, or potential threats.
• Respond to security incidents, trespassing, violations, and other concerns in accordance with company procedures and applicable laws.
• Contact and coordinate with appropriate authorities when necessary and follow established protocols during security incidents.
• Maintain detailed and accurate reports of daily activities, security concerns, and incidents.
• Test and monitor security equipment and systems to ensure they are functioning properly.
• Operate security equipment, including metal detectors and X-ray machines, when required.
• Use two-way radios and other communication devices clearly and professionally.
• Maintain a visible security presence throughout the facility and provide assistance to employees and visitors when appropriate.
• Perform basic first aid or CPR when necessary and within the scope of training and certification.

Requirements

Required Skills:

• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to assess situations and respond appropriately.

Preferred Experience:  

• Experience in the cannabis, food manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or other regulated production industries.Strong attention to detail and situational awareness.
• Ability to remain calm and professional when responding to stressful or unexpected situations.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with employees, visitors, management, and emergency personnel.
• Ability to follow security procedures, company policies, and applicable laws.

Required Experience:

• 2+ years experience in a security role. 

Physical Requirements:

• Must be physically capable of responding to security incidents, including capturing or detaining individuals when necessary and permitted by law.
• Must be able to remain seated for extended periods while monitoring surveillance equipment.
• Must be able to look at computer and surveillance screens for extended periods.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Division of Cannabis Control Requirements:

• Must be 21+
• No felonies
• No trafficking Charges
