Job Summary:

Provides armed security on assigned Company properties. Performs uniformed security shift work and assists with investigations as directed by management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provides armed physical security and at assigned locations.
• Assists with security training and internal investigations.
• Monitors safety and security equipment and processes.
• Assists with providing on-site training for newly assigned security officers.
• Responsible for filling position vacancies/working flexible shifts due to scheduling conflicts.
• Responsible for the use, maintenance of, and response to security alarms and other security systems at distribution centers.
• Monitors and controls vehicular and pedestrian access and traffic at non-retail locations.
• Complies with state and private security and safety regulations.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Basic knowledge of the warehouse communications system.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to pass post-offer medical evaluation including but not limited to medical background check, vision test, hearing test, physical agility test, etc. for job related tasks.
• Ability to demonstrate how to safely operate a firearm.
• Ability to comprehend and interpret information.
• Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence.
• Ability to research information, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to learn new technology systems, methods and processes.
• Ability to reason, form concepts and recognize and solve problems.
• Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
• Ability to occasionally travel to off-site and out-of-town locations with possible overnight stays.
• Ability to work on-call and flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays.
• May be required to drive in accordance with the BGC Driver policy.
• Must be attentive to potential hazards and remedy or place appropriate warning signs or devices around or near the hazard as soon as is reasonably possible.
• Must report any potential hazards that cannot be immediately remedied to a supervisor.

Education, Experience and Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two or more years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and higher education preferred.
• Valid state driver's license required.
• Minimum of 21 years of age required.
• Partners must be 21 years of age or older to drive for Company business in accordance with the BGC Business Driver Policy.
• Texas Department of Public Safety Level III certification required (must be acquired within six months of hire; training program available for uncertified candidates). (Texas Only)
• Must be able to pass post-offer general physical and physical agility test for job related tasks. This includes a minimum of 18 push-ups, 16 sit-ups (within 1 minute), elliptical (5 minutes), and 125lbs body drag for 15 yards.

• Continuously required to use close vision, distance vision, depth perception or the ability to focus.
• Continuously required to stand or walk.
• Frequently required to talk and hear.
• Frequently required to use hands for reaching, touching or handling.
• Frequently required to use fine finger movements (ex. sorting and typing).
• Occasionally required to sit for long periods of time.
• Occasionally required to push, pull, maneuver or lift objects up to 40 lbs.
• Occasionally required to bend, kneel or squat.
• Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop or crawl.
• Attendance at work is required.

Work Context and Environment:

• Work is generally performed in and around a warehouse setting.
• Continuously exposed to outside temperatures and weather.
• Occasionally exposed to wet, slippery or damp conditions.
• Occasionally exposed to industrial odors, fumes and dust.
• Noise level varies.
