With 75 years of experience, our focus is on helping the most vulnerable children overcome poverty and experience fullness of life. We help children of all backgrounds, even in the most dangerous places, inspired by our Christian faith.

Come join our 33,000+ staff working in nearly 100 countries and share the joy of transforming vulnerable children’s life stories!

Key Responsibilities:

Security Analytics and Solutions Intern

Remote within the US

World Vision Internships offer a three-month opportunity for talented students and recent graduates eager to dive into the international relief and development field. We are dedicated to providing you with a meaningful learning experience, where you will grow, acquire valuable skills, and connect with other passionate professionals who share our mission.

Internship Opportunity

Join World Vision’s Security, Safety & Resilience (SSR) team as a remote intern and play a key role in protecting staff and programs in some of the world’s most challenging contexts. Our mission is simple yet vital: to create a resilient, secure, and compassionate organization where individuals feel safe, supported, and empowered—no matter where they serve.

The Security Operations team ensures that our field teams implement good physical security mitigation measures and meet World Vision’s Core Security Requirements (CSR). We provide expert guidance, practical tools, and templates to help reduce risks and keep our people safe while continuing life-changing work in fragile environments.

As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience developing and deploying Microsoft-based tools and templates that make security processes simpler and compliance easier. Your work will directly support security managers in their crucial roles, helping them protect staff and programs—all while collaborating with a passionate global team from the comfort of your home.

What You'll Do:

  • Redesign & Pilot a Risk Assessment Tool: Get hands-on experience improving security processes by reimagining our current risk assessment template. You will review existing tools, gather feedback, and assist in designing a new online format. From building and testing a prototype to running a pilot and collecting feedback, you will play a crucial role in developing a tool that simplifies and enhances security compliance.

  • Analyse & Improve System Connections: Dive into how our systems work together by conducting a compatibility study. You will identify opportunities to streamline data collection and reporting, and present creative options for using data across multiple platforms to enhance insights and decision-making.

Why Join us:

  • Tech & Innovation Skills: Learn how to design, build, and test Microsoft-based automation tools that streamline processes and make security management easier.

  • Collaboration & Problem-Solving: Work with global teams and stakeholders to understand needs, implement solutions, and develop strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

  • Real-World Security Insights: Gain a deeper understanding of how security teams protect staff and programs in challenging environments, ensuring safety and resilience.

  • Expand Your Horizons: Explore the international relief sector, unleash your leadership skills, and strengthen your Christian faith with Weekly Professional Development Sessions

  • Transform Lives: Take on challenging and meaningful work assignments while developing your technical skills and gaining valuable hands-on experience.

  • Join an Inspiring Community: Form connections with a diverse nationwide intern cohort and colleagues who, inspired by their Christian faith, support children of all backgrounds, even in the most dangerous places.

What You'll Bring:

  • Tech Skills That Stand Out: Familiarity with Microsoft tools like Excel (Power Query), Power Automate, SharePoint, and Power BI. Bonus points if you have explored AI prompt design (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) or R Studio.

  • Curiosity & Creativity: A problem-solver who loves learning new tools and finding smarter ways to work.

  • Strong Communication & Listening: Ability to collaborate effectively, share ideas clearly, and actively listen in a global, virtual team environment.

  • Responsibility and Enthusiasm: You are responsible, responsive, and enthusiastic about using your God-given talents to influence the world positively.

  • Commitment to our Mission: You have a demonstrated commitment to and alignment with the goals, mission, and vision of World Vision, embodying its values in all aspects of your work.
