Job Description
Astin Enterprises dba Main Street Security is seeking self-directed, highly motivated individuals to serve as a full time Security Specialist at a location primarily in downtown Bryan. Our staff will be expected to deliver our services and serve our customers with a high level of enthusiasm, integrity, and accuracy. This position requires the ability to work Monday through Friday 9 am to 5 pm and ocassionally other days and times.
The ideal candidates:
- Possesses a Level II Texas Private Security License
- Must demonstrate good moral fitness and ethical standards.
- Will have a proven background in working with the public.
- Seek to serve the customers and client with the highest quality of customer service and professionalism.
- Are open to new ideas and methods in the delivery of quality services.
- Exhibit ability to show initiative and accept responsibility within guidelines provided.
- Willing to work varying shifts, including nights and weekends.
- Must have a neat, professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
- Must be a good communicator (verbal and written)
- Capable of handling basic and emergency situations efficiently and effectively.
Specific responsibilities associated with this position include (depending on career level):
- Patrols buildings and grounds to check for suspicious activities of personnel, unlocked doors, fires, and water leaks.
- Reports all irregularities, emergencies, or suspicious activity to the proper authorities and security supervisors.
- Provides information to visitors, students, and employees or directs such inquiries to appropriate personnel.
- Provides courtroom testimony when appropriate.
- Assumes "high profile" status as a deterrent to criminal activity.
- Prepares regular activity and comprehensive reports.
- Advises and mentors other Security Officers.
Qualifications for this position include:
- Must not have disqualifying criminal offenses listed for either TSA or TX Department of Public Safety
- High School degree and at least 18 years of age, Associate degree or higher preferred.
- Three years of security employment or military service preferred.
- Must maintain a valid State of Texas driver's license.
- Must pass a drug test.
