Job Description

The Security SpecialistIIwillmaintainthe overall safety and security within the agency andassistin thetimelydissemination of security information throughout all departments.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to obtain andmaintainthe required customer clearance for access to systems, facilities,equipmentand property.

Mustpossessappropriate levelof certifications for this position as.

Occasionallydirected in several aspects of the work.

KEYDUTIESAND RESPONSIBILITIES

EssentialDuties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Assistsinmaintainingthe overall safety and security within the agency.

Ensures compliance with all security directives.

Assistsin the implementation of security-related procedures, such as control and management ofLimited or Vault Type Rooms, access authorizations, and registration.

Assistsin the control and handling of classified material.

 Reviews classified visits, foreign visits and assignments, and foreign travel requests.

Helps investigate, track, and report Federal and Contractor staff security infractions.

Assistsin the in and out processing of staff, including initiating applicants for security clearances and badges, administering electronic questionnaires, and providing follow-up.

Assistswith acquiring badges, badge turn-ins, debriefings, and account terminations.

TracksFederal compliance with security training (Annual Security Refresher Briefing).

Maintainstraining records for all employees.

Assistswith FACTS data entry for Foreign National Unclassified Visits and assignments.

EDUCATIONAND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study and a minimum oftwo to four(2-4) years relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education/experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Work is primarily performed in an office environment. Regularly required to sit. Regularly required use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms to handleobjectsandoperatetools, computer, and/or controls. Required to speak and hear. Occasionally required to stand,walkand stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Mustfrequentlylift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Exposed to general office noise with computers printers and light traffic.

The estimated pay range for this role is $25 to $32 per hour, with the final offer contingent on location, skillset, and experience.
