Job Description
Description: We are seeking an experienced Security Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for installing, servicing, and troubleshooting access control and IP-based video surveillance systems. Work includes handling electrified and non-electrified locks, card readers, ancillary door devices, IP and analog cameras, head-end recording equipment, wired and wireless systems, and intercom systems. Projects may take place in high-profile environments, active facilities, or construction sites, requiring strong professionalism and attention to detail. Key Responsibilities: Interpret and work from electrical schematics, PDF drawings, and related technical documentation for installation and service activities. Prepare materials and lay out work for system installations. Install cabling, mount equipment, and integrate access control devices such as card readers, door contacts, mag locks, and electrified strikes. Demonstrate a working knowledge of low-voltage systems, relays, and NC/NO circuits. Assemble and install access control panels, power supplies, cable management systems, and various types of cabling (CAT, coaxial, low-voltage). Maintain a general understanding of network topology as it relates to system integration. Use a multimeter to test voltage and continuity. Apply mechanical and computer skills to effectively diagnose and troubleshoot system issues. Operate necessary hand and power tools to complete installation and service tasks. Perform additional project-related duties as assigned by the supervisor. Maintain consistent attendance and adhere to company reporting procedures. Qualifications: Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required. Relevant certifications or licenses are a plus. Experience: 5+ years of experience in access control system installation, service, and configuration. Must possess or be able to obtain an active access control technician license as required. Safety: OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.
