We promote a collaborative professional environment both in and out of the office, and recognize that diverse perspectives strengthen our understanding of issues and our services to our clients and their communities.Position SummaryEPS is seeking a full-time Senior Accountant at our Sacramento location. The Senior Accountant is responsible for performing and maintaining the firm’s core accounting functions, ensuring accuracy in financial records, and supporting project-based accounting activities. This role requires an accounting professional with a minimum of 5 years of accounting experience and strong proficiency in Deltek Vantagepoint is preferred.  The Senior Accountant plays a key role in preparing financial reports, supporting audits, coordinating with human resources, and partnering with project managers to ensure accurate billing, cost tracking, and revenue receipts. In addition, this position provides financial data and analysis to EPS management and collaborates with consultants and vendors to resolve accounting-related matters.Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely billing, accurate invoicing, and effective collections.
  • Assist with payroll processing and employee expense reporting.
  • Managing accounting-related processes associated with onboarding and offboarding.
  • Perform accounting activities including journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
  • Support month-end and year-end close activities.
  • Prepare standard financial reports and schedules for management review.
  • Participate in special projects, as assigned.
Deltek Vantagepoint Utilization
  • Enter and maintain project data, billing information, and timekeeping records in Deltek Vantagepoint.
  • Generate standard reports to support project managers and leadership.
  • Develop new reporting and invoice templates.
  • Assist in troubleshooting system issues and ensuring data accuracy.
Compliance & Audit Support
  • Ensure adherence to GAAP and company accounting policies and procedures.
  • Prepare documentation for audits and tax filings.
  • Maintain accurate records to meet regulatory, contractual, and client requirements.
  • Interface with CPA firm and banking partners.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years of accounting experience in consulting or a professional services environment.Proficiency in Deltek Vision and Deltek Vantagepoint accounting software.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and project – based accounting principles.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience preparing financial reports and analyses.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
Compensation/Benefits
  • Compensation: $94,000 - $124,000 (salary within stated range will be determined based upon education, experience, and qualifications)
