Pay: $80,000-90,000
Job Overview: The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing core accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards and regulations. This role requires a seasoned professional with deep knowledge of GAAP, dealership accounting experience, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting to management.
General Ledger Management:
  • Oversee general ledger functions and maintain the chart of accounts.
  • Perform month-end and year-end closings, including journal entries and accruals.
  • Reconcile accounts and ensure completeness of financial data.
Inventory Accounting:
  • Manage inventory accounting for parts and vehicles.
  • Ensure accurate costing and valuation.
Fixed Assets Management:
  • Maintain fixed asset records and reconcile periodically.
  • Oversee capitalization, depreciation, and disposal processes.
Compliance & Internal Controls:
  • Ensure adherence to accounting policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Support internal and external audits with documentation and schedules.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets.
Tax & Regulatory Filings:
  • Prepare and file sales tax, property tax, and other regulatory reports.
  • Assist with income tax compliance and reporting.
Team Leadership:
  • Mentor and support junior accounting staff.
  • Assist in training and development.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive team culture.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA certification preferred.
  • 5–7 years of accounting experience, with 3+ years in a senior role.
  • Automotive or truck dealership experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
Physical Demands:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use.
  • Occasional lifting of office materials up to 15 pounds.
  • Ability to focus on complex financial data for extended periods.
