Job Description

Senior Accountant – Healthcare Practices — Lansing, MI

Pay: $78,000 – $95,000 per year

Know your way around physician or dental practice books? A well-established CPA and advisory firm is hiring a Senior Accountant in Lansing to run accounting engagements for a portfolio of healthcare practices and other small to mid-sized clients. You'll be the trusted financial voice for your clients, with room to mentor and grow.

What you'll do:

- Manage accounting for multiple small to mid-sized clients, with a focus on medical and dental practices

- Review reconciliations and prepare complex bank, credit card, and loan reconciliations

- Review journal entries and prepare non-standard adjusting entries

- Own month-end close support, financial statements, and management reporting packages

- Run budget-to-actual analysis and support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow projections

- Handle 1099 reporting, grant accounting, invoicing, collections, and depreciation schedules

- Serve as primary day-to-day contact for client financial questions

What you bring:

- 4+ years of accounting experience; healthcare practice experience strongly preferred

- Bachelor's in Accounting or related field, or equivalent experience; CPA a plus

- Comfort with cloud-based accounting, automation, and reporting tools

- Ability to juggle multiple engagements on deadline and explain numbers to non-accountants

- Interest in mentoring teammates and improving processes
