Senior Construction AccountantLocation: Phoenix, AZ (onsite only)

OverviewA growing, multi‑state construction and development firm is seeking a Senior Construction Accountant to join its Phoenix‑based finance team. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional with a strong background in construction accounting, job costing, and multi‑entity financial management.

This position works closely with executive leadership and offers clear growth potential into Controller or Assistant Controller‑level responsibilities. What You’ll Be Doing

Manage the full accounting cycle, including general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, and month‑end closeMaintain accurate financial records across multiple entities and statesPerform construction job cost accounting, ensuring proper cost allocation and project trackingPrepare and review monthly financial statements and supporting schedulesReconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accountsAssist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysisPartner with project managers and operations teams to ensure accurate job cost reportingSupport year‑end audits and tax preparationHelp improve accounting processes and strengthen internal controlsProvide financial reporting and analysis to support leadership decision‑making

What We’re Looking ForRequired Qualifications

5+ years of accounting experience within the construction industryStrong knowledge of construction accounting and job costingHands‑on experience with Sage 300 / TimberlineExperience supporting multiple legal entitiesSolid understanding of the full accounting lifecycleBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related fieldAdvanced Excel skills and financial reporting proficiency
