Senior Accountant – Manufacturing
Position SummarySystem One is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to work for a client in the OKC area. This role requires a strong background in manufacturing accounting and will support cost accounting, financial reporting, inventory analysis, and month-end close. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable partnering with operations in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & General Ledger
- Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
- Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls.
- Support external audits with schedules and documentation.
Cost Accounting
- Maintain and analyze standard costs, BOMs, and routings.
- Perform cost roll-ups and monitor material, labor, and overhead costs.
- Conduct cost/variance analysis (PPV, labor efficiency, overhead absorption, etc.).
- Partner with operations to understand cost drivers and improve cost control.
Inventory & Operations Support
- Manage inventory accounting, cycle counts, and physical inventory.
- Reconcile inventory accounts and resolve discrepancies.
- Analyze WIP, scrap, and production yields; provide insights to operations.
- Collaborate with supply chain and production on forecasting and budgeting.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis
- Support annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
- Perform financial modeling and margin analysis.
- Identify trends and provide recommendations to enhance profitability.
Process Improvement & Systems
- Support ERP transactions and manufacturing-related reporting.
- Implement process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Assist with ERP upgrades and cross-functional financial initiatives.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5+ years of accounting experience, including 3+ years in manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of standard cost and inventory accounting.
- ERP experience (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, Dynamics, Epicor, etc.).
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Knowledge of GAAP.
Preferred
- CPA or CMA.
- Experience with multi-site or process manufacturing.
- Prior ERP implementation or optimization involvement.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.

- Strong problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
- Comfort working with operations, engineering, and supply chain teams.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
