Johnson Service Group, has an immediate opportunity for a Senior Accounting Manager with a manufacturing background for a Preclinical Drug Discovery CRO client in Middletown, DE Direct Hire | 100% Onsite | Salary Range: $150K – $160KSummary: We are seeking an experienced Senior Accounting Manager to lead U.S. accounting operations across multiple entities. This role will oversee core accounting functions, lead and develop the accounting team, and play an important role in SAP S/4HANA optimization and the financial integration of a newly established manufacturing operation. The ideal candidate brings strong manufacturing accounting, cost accounting, general ledger, financial reporting, internal controls, and ERP experience.Responsibilities

• Lead month-end close, account reconciliations, trial balance review, and financial statement preparation.*
• Manage and develop General Ledger, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable personnel.*
• Oversee cost accounting, including standard costs, inventory valuation, absorption, reserves, and variance analysis.*
• Ensure accurate fixed asset accounting, capitalization, depreciation, and disposals.*
• Maintain compliance with U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and SOX requirements; support IFRS reporting as needed.*
• Support cash management, cash-flow monitoring, and forecasting.*
• Partner with manufacturing finance on inventory reporting, balances, and reserves.*
• Support SAP S/4HANA initiatives, including UAT, issue resolution, reporting, and post-implementation stabilization.*
• Partner with IT, FP&A, corporate accounting, and global finance teams.*
• Coordinate internal and external audits and support tax compliance activities.*
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.*
• Develop and improve accounting policies, procedures, and processes.*
• Drive process standardization and continuous improvement across accounting operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.*
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory or team leadership experience.*
• Strong manufacturing and cost accounting experience.*
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA or a similar ERP system.*
• Strong knowledge of GL, AP, AR, fixed assets, inventory, cost accounting, and financial reporting.*
• Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controls/SOX; IFRS experience preferred.*
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.*
• CPA preferred.*
• Experience with LucaNet, QlikView, or Hyperion is a plus.*
• Mandarin language skills are a plus, but not required.*
• Ability to travel as needed and occasionally work weekends or holidays based on business requirements.
