As the Senior Analyst, Strategic Finance, you will join our IR & Strategic Finance team in a highly analytical role spanning portfolio analytics, financial modeling, strategic planning, and process improvement. A critical part of the role will be developing a detailed understanding of Generate's diverse and evolving portfolio and translating complex information into clear insights that help the company understand and manage risk. You will also help formalize repeatable, scalable processes to improve how data flows across this team, and support the continued development of our corporate model and strategic planning tools. We are looking for someone who combines strong financial fundamentals and data fluency.

What you will be doing at Generate Capital as the Senior Analyst, Strategic Finance:

  • Develop a detailed understanding of Generate's portfolio, including its composition, exposures, cash flows, performance, and risk drivers

  • Own and improve recurring portfolio analytics, valuation support, diversification analysis, sensitivities, and reporting

  • Turn large, complex financial data sets into clear insights for senior stakeholders

  • Build documented, scalable data and reporting processes that improve accuracy, efficiency, and continuity

  • Partner with FP&A, Asset Management, and Technology to improve data flows and financial reporting

  • Support the Strategic Business Plan, including dashboards, bottom-up analysis, forecasting, and variance analysis

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the corporate model and the business models that feed it

  • Build analytical tools, use AI thoughtfully to accelerate work, and support diligence, Investor Relations, FP&A, and other team priorities

Candidate qualifications & core characteristics:

  • Bachelor's / Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or a related field

  • 1-6 years of relevant experience in strategic finance, corporate finance, FP&A, portfolio analytics, investment analysis, risk management, or a related field; level will depend on experience

  • Strong finance fundamentals, including three-statement modeling, discounted cash flow analysis, and capital structure

  • Foundational accounting knowledge and an understanding of GAAP and non-GAAP measures; advanced accounting expertise is a plus

  • Advanced Excel skills and experience building, auditing, and troubleshooting complex financial models

  • Ability to work accurately with large data sets, nested hierarchies, and complex financial information

  • Strong analytical judgment, including the ability to break down multivariable problems and separate signal from noise

  • Experience designing and implementing scalable processes or analytical frameworks

  • Clear, concise communication and strong interpersonal skills

  • A collaborative, low-ego working style and the ability to switch contexts and adapt quickly

  • Practical familiarity with AI tools; experience with SQL, Power BI, Python, R, or planning systems is a plus

Generate's compensation packages are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Salary decisions take into account a wide variety of factors including, but not limited to: skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, geographic location, and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is $100,000 - $125,000. In addition, the compensation package may include a discretionary bonus and other benefits, including health care benefits, retirement benefits, benefits permitting paid days off (including sick leave, parental leave, and paid time off or vacation benefits), and other benefits that must be reported for federal tax purposes. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of this range.
