Job Description

As a Senior Software Engineer reporting to Head of Engineering, you'll play a critical role in designing, building, and evolving software solutions that power Nasdaq's global technology platforms. Based in Poland, you'll work across architecture, development, and delivery to create scalable, high-quality systems that drive real business impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement software solutions across new and existing applications, systems architecture, and infrastructure to meet complex business needs.

  • Analyse and review system requirements and business processes, translating them into robust, well-tested, and maintainable code.

  • Evaluate emerging technology and market trends to identify opportunities, inform technology decisions, and maintain competitive advantage for clients.

  • Collaborate across functions and geographies to deliver end-to-end solutions spanning architecture, database design, software development, and testing.

  • Mentor and challenge team members to drive continuous improvement, efficiency, and adoption of industry best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field - or equivalent practical experience.

  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering, including design, development, testing, and implementation of complex solutions.

  • Proficiency in C++ with demonstrated experience developing and maintaining high-performance, production-grade software.

  • Strong understanding of systems architecture, application infrastructure, and software development lifecycle.

  • Clear communicator with experience working in collaborative, cross-functional environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree or specialization in financial markets, finance, mathematics, or a related discipline.

  • Relevant professional certifications across specialist technology disciplines.

  • Experience working with global teams or contributing to enterprise-scale systems in regulated industries.

This position will be located in Poland and offers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment, at least 3 days a week in-office, subject to change.

The annual gross base pay for this role is zł169,000 - zł330,000. At Nasdaq, we use a structured job and career framework to make sure growth opportunities are clear and fair. The pay range you see reflects the full salary band for this job level, including room for progression over time. The actual offer will depend on factors like your skills, experience, qualifications, and location, and will fall within a portion of the posted range that's appropriate for this role. In addition to base pay, we offer short-term incentives (bonus or commission) and long-term incentives (equity), where applicable, as well as the following benefits:
