Job Location: 

This role is 100% on-site in Bethesda, Maryland. 

Clearance:

Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis and have the ability to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance. 

Job Description:

In this position as a Senior Financial Management Analyst, you will be preparing for and responding to financial statement audits. You will serve as a key liaison between government stakeholders and external auditors, ensuring audit readiness, compliance, and high-quality financial documentation throughout the audit lifecycle. In this position, you will also:

  • Serve as the primary liaison between USUHS and external auditors (e.g., IPAs, OIG), coordinating entrance/exit conferences, walkthroughs, and audit touchpoints
  • Manage the full lifecycle of Provided-By-Client (PBC) requests, including assignment, tracking, quality control, and submission to auditors and the Defense Health Agency (DHA)
  • Leverage AI-enabled knowledge management tools to automate identification, retrieval, and quality review of audit documentation
  • Coordinate the collection, analysis, and packaging of audit sample documentation, ensuring completeness and audit readiness
  • Perform root cause analysis on audit sample failures and provide actionable feedback to internal controls teams for remediation
  • Support compliance inquiries by delivering accurate financial data and documentation aligned with audit and regulatory requirements
  • Provide executive-level visibility into audit progress, financial performance, and risk areas
  • Manage high-volume audit workloads, including 100–200 audit samples and ~100 PBC requests annually
  • Adapt support to align with cyclical audit demands, optimizing resource allocation during peak and non-peak periods
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation and records in accordance with federal financial management standards

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in Department of Defense (DoD/DoW) government auditing.
  • 5+ years of experience preparing Provided-By-Client (PBC) and audit sample documentation packages.
  • 5+ years of experience developing, testing, and supporting Corrective Action Plans (CAPs).

Desired Skills:

  • Experience leveraging automation or AI tools (e.g., LLMs) to support audit processes and documentation management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including SharePoint and Google Workspace.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at multiple levels.
  • Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM) and/or Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) certification.

Your individual salary within this range will be determined by various factors, including but not limited to your education, experience, skills, and geographic location.
