Job Description

Global Health Strategies is seeking a creative Senior Associate, Social Media who has advanced skills developing, editing, and distributing written and video content on social platforms. This person should have a record of accomplishment of creating content and building visibility and engagement on social channels, especially LinkedIn. The ideal candidate is also passionate about global health and social development and brings strong geopolitical awareness, sound editorial judgment, and a clear point of view on how digital platforms, particularly LinkedIn, can be used to engage policymakers, funders, partners, and other priority stakeholders.

The ideal candidate is:

  • A digital native storyteller: Knows what plays best on ever-changing platforms and understands how to craft content that elevates key voices and issues.
  • Strategic and entrepreneurial: Comfortable testing, iterating, and learning from results – balancing long-term strategy with day-to-day execution.
  • Creative and quick: Comes up with novel ideas for content, consistently tapping into current events and trends with an original take.

Senior Associates spend most of their time supporting client work but also contribute to internal thought leadership and digital innovation, helping strengthen how GHS leverages platforms to influence global conversations.

This role is based in New York City, with an expectation of 3 days per week in the office.About The Position This role will work closely with GHS account teams and will play a significant role in GHS’ growing client executive leadership communications practice. The role is highly execution-focused and content-driven, with responsibility for managing channels, producing, and publishing content.Key Responsibilities

  • Develop executive leadership content for LinkedIn: Draft and publish executive leadership content that elevates leaders’ voices and raises the discourse on global health issues, aligned with broader advocacy strategies
  • Manage organizational editorial calendars: Lead on developing social media strategy and editorial calendar for GHS and client channels (e.g., LinkedIn, Instagram, X/Twitter, Bluesky, and emerging platforms).
  • Create compelling written and visual content: Create and edit content (posts, visuals, short videos)that effectively distills complex global health topics and resonates with target audiences.
  • Stay abreast of social trend and tactics: Advise teams on trends, formats, and platform best practices; monitor real-time social discourse and identify timely engagement opportunities.
  • Conduct regular social listening: Monitor social conversations, global policy discourse, and influencer activity relevant to client priorities, flagging opportunities, risks, and real-time engagement moments.
  • Report on performance and analytics: Track performance metrics, generate insights, and refine content and strategy accordingly.
  • Build internal capacity for social: Document social media processes, workflows, and platform best practices; support internal social media trainings.
  • Provide ad hoc project support: Support project management and execution, including meeting notes, work plans, timelines, and budget tracking, as required.

Requirements And Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of overall experience with advanced expertise in LinkedIn, a strong understanding of the social and digital media ecosystem, including TikTok, X/Twitter, YouTube, podcasts, and livestreaming.
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Global Health, International Affairs, or related field.
  • Demonstrated content creation skills, excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics for public audiences.
  • Experience in social media in global health or other social development companies/organizations, agency experience a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, creativity, and demonstrated interest in global health and policy.
