Request ID: 98885-1 Title: Senior AWS DevOps & Automation Engineer Locations: Charlotte, NCDuration:6 + MonthsPay Range: $45- $50/Hour on W2/C2C (All inclusive) We are seeking a highly skilled Senior AWS DevOps & Automation Engineer with expertise in Python, Terraform, GitLab CI/CD, AWS Infrastructure, and AI-driven automation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, automating, and optimizing enterprise cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code solutions while driving AI-powered automation initiatives across the organization. This role requires strong experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, software development, and enterprise platform automation within a highly regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain enterprise automation solutions using Python and Terraform.
Develop and maintain coding standards and best practices for Python, Terraform, JavaScript, and other development technologies.
Manage and optimize enterprise GitLab repositories, projects, and CI/CD pipelines.
Improve pipeline efficiency, reduce execution times, and implement deployment best practices.
Configure, deploy, and manage AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
Build and maintain scalable cloud environments using AWS services including VPC, EC2, ECS, Lambda, Step Functions, Security Groups, IAM, and related services.
Design and implement automated infrastructure provisioning and deployment strategies.
Collaborate with business stakeholders, Treasury, Risk, Finance, and Technology teams to gather requirements and deliver cloud automation solutions.
Research, evaluate, and implement AI technologies to automate manual processes and improve operational efficiency.
Develop AI-powered automation solutions using Agentic AI, RAG, prompt engineering, MCP, and modern AI frameworks where applicable.
Maintain technical documentation, proof-of-concepts (PoCs), architecture documents, and implementation guides.
Perform code reviews, knowledge sharing, and mentor engineering teams.
Develop Python applications following PEP8 coding standards and enterprise development guidelines.
Troubleshoot infrastructure, CI/CD, and cloud platform issues while implementing long-term solutions.
Participate in Agile development, DevOps, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills

8+ years of experience in Python development.
8+ years of experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
8+ years of experience managing GitLab repositories, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps automation.
Strong expertise in AWS Cloud services including:
- EC2
- ECS
- Lambda
- VPC
- Security Groups
- IAM
- Step Functions
Strong SQL knowledge including normalization, indexing, joins, and database optimization.
Experience designing enterprise cloud infrastructure and scalable data pipelines.
Experience with Infrastructure Automation and DevOps best practices.
Strong scripting and automation skills.
Experience with Jira and Jira APIs.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills

3+ years of experience with Generative AI, Agentic AI, AI Agents, Prompt Engineering, RAG, Multimodal Embeddings, MCP (Model Context Protocol), and AI orchestration frameworks.
Experience developing dashboards using Dash, Flask, React, Angular, or Vue.js.
Strong Excel VBA skills.
Experience working in Financial Services, Treasury, Capital Markets, Risk, or Accounting domains.
Experience with Agile, DevSecOps, GitOps, and enterprise automation frameworks.
AWS Certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, or Developer Associate) are a plus.
Experience mentoring technical teams and driving cloud transformation initiatives.
