Senior Billing Specialist (Contractor)

About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Billing Specialist (Contractor) to support high‑volume SaaS billing operations within a fast‑paced Finance organization. This role will be responsible for accurate and timely order processing, invoice generation, billing adjustments, and revenue‑related activities. The ideal candidate has strong NetSuite expertise, SaaS billing experience, and a detailed understanding of end‑to‑end billing workflows.

This contractor must be available for a few hours on the 1st of every month, even when it falls on a weekend or holiday, to support critical month‑opening billing processes. 

This is a 100% remote role.

What You’ll Do:

NetSuite Order Processing & Invoicing

• Review and process monthly orders, including setting revenue dates, validating order accuracy, and configuring billing schedules
• Release invoices for all processed orders in a timely manner
• Process monthly invoices—both manual and system generated
• Generate usage billing and reconcile usage data as needed
• Perform monthly invoice reconciliations and process adjustments

Billing Operations & Customer Support

• Research and resolve daily billing inquiries from both customers and internal teams
• Process return authorizations and credit memos ensuring accuracy of revenue and billing impacts
• Email and physically mail invoices as required
• Upload invoices to customer payment portals

Revenue Support

• Assist with month over month revenue variance analysis
• Generate revenue arrangements and resolve system errors
• Post monthly revenue entries and manual journal entries as needed
• Reconcile and post percent complete professional services revenue

Systems & Process Management

• Process billing in legacy systems and import invoices into NetSuite
• Support vendor billing processes as needed
• Run monthly payment processes
• Work closely with RevOps to ensure accurate bookings and invoicing alignment

Audit & Compliance

• Pull and prepare documentation to support internal and external audit requests
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, revenue policies, and billing procedures
• Proficiency with hands on experience in billing, revenue, and order management modules
• SaaS billing experience in a high volume environment

Requirements for Success:

• NetSuite proficiency with hands on experience in billing, revenue, and order management modules
• SaaS billing experience in a high volume environment
• Availability on the 1st of every month, including weekends and holidays

Preferred Skills

• Working knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition
• Experience with professional services percent complete revenue, and usage based billing
