Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Buyer with Corporate Services experience in Professional Services such as Travel, Consulting and BPO to join our team here in Wilmington, DE. This is an on-site position with 1-2 days of remote work each week. Candidates should live within a commutable distance to the corporate site. Relocation is not available for this role.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Requires conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline and developing knowledge of related job disciplines.
- Contract negotiations and administration
- Bid Development and execution
- Project Management oversight of implementation on bid results and/or program developments
- Data analytic expertise on reading and presenting on data findings
- Detailed understanding of key business drivers and identifying savings opportunities from multiple years of experience.
- May supervise or act as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
- Has the ability to understand and influence stakeholders and other project team members.
- Impacts a range of customer, operational, project or service activities within own team.
- Begins to work independently with minimal to moderate guidance.
- Analyzes potential solutions to problems (with or without vague/unstructured aspects) using experience, judgment and precedents.
- Work requires judgment and consideration of future implications beyond the immediate problem.
Education & Experience
Required:
- Bachelor degree and at least 5 years of relevant experience in procurement, retail, catalog, finance and/or banking experience OR High School/GED and at least
- 5+ years of experience in procurement, retail, catalog, finance and/or banking experience; 7+ preferred
- Experience in business through procurement lifecycles and best procurement practices.
- Experience leading negotiations and developing/executing on procurement strategies.
- Experience influencing internal and external resources to develop strategies that meet department goals within budget and established timelines.
- Strong background in procurement and vendor negotiations.
- Experience managing projects and/or cross functional teams.
- Experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace.
- Cross-functional team experience and support
- Experience managing change across multiple stakeholder groups.
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in negotiating deals and contracts.
- Intermediate level skill in Microsoft PowerPoint (for example: applying a theme, formatting character spacing, inserting a picture, changing slide layout and theme colors, adding transitions, customizing slide numbers, changing chart style and/or formatting font); creating a clean, informative presentation for executive leaders.
- Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Word (for example: inserting headers, page breaks, page numbers and tables and/or adjusting table columns), such as for contract reviews and project charters.
Preferred:
- Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using SUM function, setting borders, setting column width, inserting charts, using text wrap, sorting, setting headers and footers and/or print scaling)
- At least 5 years of Purchasing and corporate services including professional services and travel.
- Able to work with Executive Leadership
- Business and financial acumen
- Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) skills
- Strong time management and prioritization skills
