Job Description
Location: Hybrid On-site in Jefferson, OR (2 days/ week) and Lake Oswego, OR (3 days/ week)
Compensation: $85,000 $100,000 base annually, plus bonus eligibility
Employment Type: Full Time | On-site
We are hiring a Senior Buyer to own purchasing of component supply base. You will be a key contributor to a tight-knit supply chain team of 3-4 members, reporting directly to the Director of Supply Chain Management and partnering closely with Operations, Sales, and Customer Assurance to keep our production lines running smoothly.
Because most of our component suppliers are based in Korea and China, fluency in Korean or Mandarin is required. You will be negotiating, building relationships, and resolving day-to-day issues directly with vendors in their language and across their time zones.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Job Requirements
- 5+ years equivalent experience in purchasing, inventory management, supply chain, ideally in a manufacturing environment
- Fluent in Korean/ Mandarin (written and verbal) for direct supplier communication
- Strong working knowledge of ERP systems, with demonstrated proficiency in purchasing and inventory modules
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Advanced Excel Skills; solid command of Microsoft Word and Outlook
- Proven negotiation and vendor management skills, including with international suppliers
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including with international suppliers
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with sharp attention to details
- Comfortable working flexibly across time zones to align with APAC vendors
- Detailed knowledge of ERP systems and proficiency in purchasing and inventory management.
- Ability to manage domestic and global sourcing.
- Ability to work with vendors in APAC region with flexibility to attend vendor audits as per vendors timings.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and manage projects.
- In-depth knowledge of Excel, Word, or Outlook, and the ability to fully use these tools in an efficient manner.
- Active listening and excellent problem-solving capabilities.
- Attention to detail.
- Capable of documenting and systematically archiving critical information in multiple databases.
- Bachelor's degree
- ASCM (APICS) Certification
