The Impact That You Will Make

The Sr. Buyer is critical to the evolution of ARMI into a GMP manufacturing organization. In this role, you will support the current Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO), mentor junior team members, and support multiple construction and fit up activities. This role will also be actively involved in the role out of Rockwell's PharmaSuite MES. Reporting to BioFabUSA's Senior Director of Operations, you will contribute to the operational success of a high-performing CDMO team.

Your Role

  • Manage vendor/member relationships in partnership with ARMI's membership organization.
  • Tactically support the current Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) by executing day-to-day purchasing activities, including obtaining quotes, creating purchase requests, placing orders, tracking status, supplier follow up, invoice reconciliation and order returns.
  • Coordinate domestic and international shipment logistics per defined processes.
  • Own service contract negotiations (software and equipment).
  • Participate in Root Cause Investigations as they relate to raw materials and manage the SCAR process.
  • Foster and promote innovative solutions that drive cost reduction and continuous improvement of the supply chain process.
  • Develop a seamless relationship with Operations Support, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Project Management and Process Development teams to ensure on time material availability.
  • Execute, maintain and author supply chain related QMS Standard Operating Procedures (New Material Approvals, Min/Max Inventory system, receiving) and deviations.
  • Identify and implement supply chain related process improvements.
  • Maintain sourcing KPIs to monitor the health of the sourcing organization.
  • Coach, mentor, and support the team on best practices in vendor management, cost reductions, and end-to-end supply chain knowledge.
  • Support all procurement activities related to the brownfield construction/fit-ups as requested.
  • Partner with the leadership team to develop a long-term strategy for ARMI Procurement.

Your Skills and Experiences

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic, collaborative team environment
  • Strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience within the Life Sciences Industry.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of direct work/sourcing experience in cell therapy, biopharmaceutical manufacturing, medical device, or other similar industries.
  • Partner with key stakeholders in the BoM development process
  • Advise, manage and improve inventory levels to support ongoing operations.
  • Experience with Rockwell PharmaSuite MES, ERP Implementation (Procurement focus) preferred.
  • Demonstrated track record of mentoring supply chain professionals.
  • Proven ability to communicate, appropriately escalate risks and suggest risk mitigations.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze data sets and identify actionable insights.
  • Experience in the CDMO business model and in GMP operations is desired.
  • Experience with facility construction is preferred.
  • Ability to work on feet for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs, including occasional overhead lifting, is required.
